For this personal project, I wanted to combine Brutalist design with my love of music. Thus, I made a desktop poster for my favorite song, “Time to Pretend” by MGMT. The images from the song’s music video alongside stock images reflect the song’s strong sense of nostalgia. I also used scratched overlays and threshold filters to mimic a grunge aesthetic. These elements help give the poster a worn, aged appearance that visually reinforces the nostalgic sound present in the song.
